New crown case at Toromocho copper mine in Peru

SMM5, March 11: last Thursday, a worker at Chinalco's Toromocho copper mine in Peru tested positive for the new crown virus. At present, the employee has been transferred to the Peruvian capital Lima medical center, in a stable condition.

Chinalco said it would quickly test all employees at the mine. Other employees in contact with the new crown epidemic will be quarantined in Lima, the capital, for 14 days.

As early as mid-March, the Toromocho copper mine was partially closed.

Toromocho produces 190000 tons of copper and 284 tons of molybdenum in 2019.
