Glencore's cobalt production fell 44% in the first quarter from a year earlier

SMM5, March 11: recently, Glencore released results for the first quarter of 2020, the company's cobalt mine production of 6.1 kilotons, the first quarter of 2019 was 10.9 kilotons, down 44 percent from the same period last year.

In addition, it has been reported that Mopani Copper (MCM), Glencore's subsidiary in Zambia, will resume operations for 90 days before entering overhaul mode. During these 90 days, Mopani will continue to consult with the Zambian government on related matters. At the same time, the construction of Katanga's chemical plant will be extended to the second half of 2020 without affecting the production plan for 2020.
