SMM5, June 6: despite a four-year low in zinc prices, Queensland, Australia-based resources company New Century Resources has maintained its target for zinc production in the second quarter of 2020 (3.15-38500 tons). In addition, C1 cash costs for the quarter are expected to be $1.14-$1.28 / lb. In the second quarter of 2020, the company produced a total of 58000 physical tons of zinc concentrate, with a zinc grade of 48.7%, and 28292 tons of zinc metal, a slight increase of 1% over the same period last year.

So far, goods sold to China and elsewhere have not been affected, the company said, and demand for its products has continued to rise amid a sharp decline in global zinc concentrate supplies as a result of the outbreak. It is reported that the company has sold all its products and received orders for the next quarter.
