[SMM Global epidemic data tracking] A total of 3.1 million cases have been confirmed worldwide, with the worsening of the epidemic in Brazil and the emergence of a political crisis.

On April 28, 76400 new cases were confirmed worldwide. As of 15:00 on April 29, the total number of confirmed cases worldwide exceeded 3.1 million, and the cumulative death toll exceeded 210000.

A total of 24900 new cases were confirmed in the United States on April 28. As of 15:00 on April 29, a total of 1.03 million cases were confirmed and 59000 deaths were confirmed. On the 28th, the number of confirmed new crown pneumonia on board the US destroyer "Kidd" has reached 64, while the Roosevelt, another concentrated outbreak, has been confirmed by at least 955 people, accounting for about 20 percent of the crew. Judging from the trend of new confirmed cases, there are still no obvious signs of improvement in the development of the epidemic in the United States.

Russia added 6411 cases on the 28th, and by 15:00 on April 29, a total of 93000 cases had been confirmed, surpassing the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Iran to become the eighth largest in the world. The spread of the epidemic within the Russian army is also difficult to control. Since the outbreak of the new epidemic in Russia, the number of confirmed cases within the Russian army has skyrocketed to 2500. Russian President Vladimir Putin says the epidemic is far from reaching its peak and all sides need to work harder.

The development of the epidemic in Brazil is worrisome. There were 5385 new cases on the 28th, and as of 15:00 on April 29, a total of 72000 cases had been confirmed. Brazil's health minister said at a news conference on the 29th that the growth of epidemic data in Brazil is not due to statistical lag and has soared in recent days, and that the data remain at a high level and continue to grow rapidly. This should be seen as a "deterioration of the situation."

While the situation in Brazil has worsened, political problems have also begun to emerge. On April 16th Luis Mandetta, Brazil's health minister, announced that he had been sacked by Brazilian President Roberto Bosonaro on the grounds that the Ministry of Health had been fighting the epidemic and ignoring the economy since the outbreak of the new epidemic in Brazil was not conducive to the development of the country. This was followed by the resignation of Brazilian Minister of Justice and Public Security Moro on 24 April, which shocked Brazil. It is reported that after Moro's resignation, the government of President Bosonaro has been seriously weakened, and Bosonaro's proposal to relax epidemic prevention measures and return to work as soon as possible is obviously inappropriate at a time when the epidemic situation is becoming more and more serious. this may exacerbate the political crisis in Brazil.
