SHANGHAI, Apr 29 (SMM) – Fujian Dadonghai Steel will conduct a technical upgrade and expansion project for iron and steel production, aiming to build an annualised production capacity of 3.66 million mt high-end hot-rolled coil, through cutback of outdated capacity, additions of new felicities and capacity swapping.
According to an environmental impact assessment report for the project released by local authorities, Fujian Dadonghai Steel is approved to proceed with the upgrade project by dismantling two blast furnaces of 450m3, a converter of 45mt and two converters of 50mt.
These equate to iron making capacity of 1.1 million mt/year and steelmaking capacity of 2.2 million mt/year.
The steel mill will purchase quotas of 4.13 million mt/year of iron making capacity and 1.53 million mt/year of steelmaking capacity.
Meanwhile, through capacity swapping, the company will also construct two Maerz kilns of 600t/d, a blast furnace of 1200m3, two blast furnaces of 1260m3 and a 130mt converter.
