Recently, an investment bank issued a report saying that it reiterated its optimism about SMIC's international technological upgrading, which is expected to benefit from 5G infrastructure development, and it is estimated that the revenue growth of 12nm and 14nm will accelerate. SMIC is believed to be able to benefit from power infrastructure equipment (Heath Semiconductor, ZTE, etc.) and terminal application products (such as the Internet of things and smartphone products). SMIC is now trading at HK $14.94, up 6.26 per cent, with an interim deal of HK $788 million, with a new total market capitalisation of HK $77.1 billion.

SMM4, March 28-the meeting of standing members of the political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee on March 4 stressed speeding up the construction of new infrastructure such as 5G networks and data centers. Since then, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments have made specific arrangements many times.

Local governments have also stepped up their participation in the construction of 5G, and seven provinces, including Beijing, have said they want to strengthen the construction of the industrial Internet. Liaoning and other six provinces proposed the development of the Internet of things. Liaoning, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Fujian, Anhui, Henan, Sichuan, Guangxi and other at least 8 provinces proposed to speed up the pace of 5G commercial use, Hubei required to speed up the process of 5G industrialization, Beijing and Hunan proposed to speed up the construction of new 5G infrastructure.

According to the 2020 government work report, Shanghai will "upgrade the energy level of the new generation of information infrastructure and promote full coverage of the 5G network." Guizhou has put forward "advanced planning and vigorously promoting the construction of new infrastructure." Hubei will "speed up the construction of new infrastructure such as 5G, industrial Internet and cold chain logistics." Inner Mongolia is "layout 5G communication application and big data, block chain, Internet of things, artificial intelligence and other industries." Shaanxi proposed to "promote the development of a new generation of information technology, big data, artificial intelligence and other emerging industries."

The three major operators also accelerated the pace of 5G network construction. Li Zhengmao, general manager of China Telecom Group Co., Ltd., said a few days ago that China Telecom strives to build 5G base stations this year to cover all cities at or above the prefecture level in the country, carry out 5G commercial services in real time, and plans to achieve 5G independent networking for the first commercial launch in the The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently announced that it is expected to build more than 500000 new 5G base stations nationwide by the end of the year.

With the acceleration of the construction of 5G base station, the demand for the main components of the base station is also gradually expanding, and the 5G chip is also increasing.

Add SMIC to the bank's "sure buy" list.

SMIC is now trading at HK $14.94, up 6.26 per cent, with an interim deal of HK $788 million, with a new total market capitalisation of HK $77.1 billion.

At the same time, CITIC Construction Investment said that there is a certain rebound space for the electronics plate, one is to benefit from the eastward shift of the semiconductor industry, the local wafer production capacity has been opened one after another, and the gap between supply and demand for semiconductor materials and equipment upstream continues to exist; second, the penetration of 5G smartphones continues to accelerate, the construction speed of 5G base stations speeds up, and the domestic market is more certain about the demand for related products, it is suggested that attention should be paid to semiconductor materials and semiconductor equipment plates.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
