SHANGHAI, Apr 26 (SMM) – Shipments of tin ore from Myanmar to China through Ruili customs remain normal even as China has closed the nearby Jiegao border crossing with Myanmar following a military attack in the Muse town of Myanmar on Thursday night.
Most of China’s tin ore imports from Myanmar are from the Wa State, while a smaller proportion enters China through Ruili customs.
It was reported that the headquarters of a local government-backed militia based in Muse, Shan State was attacked by unknown gunmen Thursday night, and that vehicles, a school and other buildings in China’s Ruili town were damaged by bullets, artillery fire and flames from an exploding gas station in Myanmar.
