[SMM data] good demand in Guangdong and Shanghai stocks of Aluminum bars decreased by 19300 tons to 145600 tons compared with last Thursday

[SMM Aluminum Express News] Vietnam's Lam Dong province seeks to expand alumina production and strengthen its integrated bauxite-to-aluminium industry. At the 2026 National Mining Science and Technology Conference held on October 9 at Lam Dong Aluminium Company, state-owned Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) outlined plans to expand alumina processing and develop higher-value aluminium production. TKV currently operates the Tan Rai and Nhan Co alumina complexes, each with a design capacity of 650,000 mt/year, which commenced operations in 2013 and 2017, respectively. The two facilities had produced nearly 15 million mt of alumina cumulatively by June 2026.

Alumina transaction: On October 9, 2026, 30,000 mt of alumina was traded at $387/mt FOB Western Australia, for November shipment.
