India launches anti-dumping investigation into flat rolled copper and copper alloy products imported from six countries

SMM4, 23 Jun: (Agrawal Metal Works Pvt Ltd), a domestic manufacturer in India, has submitted an application requesting India to launch an anti-dumping investigation into imports of copper and copper alloy flat rolled products from China, South Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand, and has been approved by the Indian General Administration of Industry, Commerce and Foreign Trade (DGTR). The dumping investigation period is from January to December 2019; The damage investigation period was from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017 to March 31, 2018, and from April 1, 2018 to March 31, 2019, respectively.

This case involves products under Indian customs codes 74091100, 74091900, 74092100, 74092900, 74093100, 74093900, 74094000, 74099000 and some products under 74101100 and 74101200.

The products of this survey are copper flat rolled products, such as copper sheets, copper plates, copper strips, copper foil and other flat rolled products of copper or its alloys, including refined copper or refined copper alloys containing zinc and tin, namely copper-zinc-based alloys (brass) and copper-tin-based alloys (phosphorus bronze).

Once it is confirmed that the above countries have committed anti-dumping acts and caused damage to India's own manufacturing industry, anti-dumping duties will be imposed on the corresponding products.
