The market for imported manganese mines has continued to rise this week, but high prices have been limited, restrictions on manganese mines in South Africa have been gradually relaxed, and supply has improved in the future.

As of Friday, Tianjin Hong Kong and Macao 45.5% mainstream quotation 53-56 yuan / tonnage, South Africa semi-carbonic acid 36% mainstream quotation 52-452 yuan / tonnage, Gabon 44% mainstream quotation 50-54 yuan / tonnage, Brazil 44% mainstream quotation 5053 yuan / tonnage; Qinzhou Hong Kong and Macao block 45.5% mainstream quotation 53-55 yuan / tonnage, South Africa semi-carbonic acid 36% mainstream quotation 50-53 yuan / tonnage, Gabon 44% mainstream quotation 51-54 yuan / tonnage, Brazil 44% mainstream quotation 49-52 yuan / tonnage, Malay mine mainstream transaction 37-39 yuan / tonnage.

Today, the South African government said that mining in South Africa can be restored by 50% and that all goods can be transported, but the sharp decline in shipments of manganese mines in April is a foregone conclusion, and the decline in national manganese port stocks in May has become a hot spot affecting market prices.

According to the research and survey of SMM iron and steel department, in April, with the gradual resumption of blast furnace plant maintenance and the recovery of the operating rate of electric arc furnace steel plant, the demand for scrap steel is expected to rebound to a certain extent, thus restricting the further substantial increase in the operating rate of electric arc furnace steel plant, or maintaining a state of operation rate of about 65.75% in the later stage. The operating rate of electric arc furnace steel plants reached 63.46%, up 10.87% from 52.59% at the beginning of April (this data includes a new sample of independent electric arc furnace steel mills), and the national steel plant will continue to open in May, so the overall demand for silicon and manganese is on the rise.
