SHANGHAI, Apr 16 (SMM) – East China's Jiangsu province will accelerate its investment in new infrastructure projects in 2020, a move aimed at expanding information consumption and supporting the development of 5G networks, local authorities said in a press conference on April 15.
The province targets to set up 52,000 5G base stations with an investment of 12.7 billion yuan in related areas in 2020. The construction of big data centres and new energy vehicle charging piles will also be highlighted.
Separately, eighteen provinces in China including Shandong and Anhui have rolled out plans to construct a total of more than 413,000 5G base stations this year.
