Sierra Metals copper production rose 52 per cent in the first quarter from a year earlier. Gold production rose 84 per cent from a year earlier.

SMM4, March 16: yesterday, Sierra Metals released production data for the first quarter of 2020. The company's silver production in the first quarter was 948000 tons, up 37 percent from the same period last year; copper production was 11.775 million pounds, up 52 percent from the same period last year; gold production was 3657 pounds, up 84 percent from the same period last year; lead production was 9.078 million pounds, up 31 percent from the same period last year; and zinc production was 21.646 million pounds, up 32 percent from the same period last year.

The average daily handling capacity of the Bolivar mining area reached a record 4315 tons, and although the Yauricocha mining area was affected by Peru's state of emergency in mid-and late March, metal production still increased significantly from the same period last year.
