AngloGold Ashanti, a gold mining company, has restarted most of its mining areas

Operations in Latin America:

Cerro Vanguardia has resumed mineral processing operations on April 6 and has increased production capacity and will process inventory products to basically maintain planned production in the face of a sharp reduction in the number of employees. , Cerro Vanguardia produced a total of 225000 ounces of gold in 2019, with a total maintenance cost of US $859 / (AISC).

Since 16 March, the Argentine border has been temporarily closed for 15 days and no one will be allowed to enter the country except Argentine citizens and foreigners with the right of abode. As a result, production in the mining area was suspended on 22 March.

Production in the, Serra Grande mining area in Brazil resumed on 5 April after production was suspended on 27 March as a result of the outbreak. , Serra Grande produced a total of 123000 tons of cheese gold in 2019, with a total maintenance cost of US $1105 / (AISC). In addition, production at the AGA Mineracao mine in Brazil continues, although no exploration work in the United States has been suspended.

Operations in South Africa:

AngloGold Ashanti has been approved by the local Mineral Resources and Energy Department to restart surface operations in South Africa on April 6, including tailings recovery in West Wits and Mine Waste Solutions in Vaal River, but at a lower operating rate. There are currently about 500 employees working in South Africa, accounting for about 8 per cent of the company's total South African workforce.

In 2019, the, West Wits region produced a total of 70, 000 tons of gold, with a total maintenance cost of US $1272 per unit of gold and a total maintenance cost of US $106000 per unit of gold per unit of, Mine Waste Solutions, and a total maintenance cost of US $894 per unit of gold per unit of (AISC).

Underground operations at Mponeng remain suspended and are currently expected to resume on 30 April. This is the only one of, AngloGold Ashanti's 14 operations that is still closed.
