In October 2019, China imported 30402 tons of cobalt hydrometallurgical intermediates, down 4 per cent from a month earlier and up 149 per cent from a year earlier. From January to October 2019, the cumulative import of cobalt hydrometallurgical intermediates in China was 235872 tons, an increase of 29 per cent over the same period last year.

Of these, cobalt hydrometallurgical intermediates imported 29936 tons from Congolese gold, down 5 percent from the previous month, an increase of 208 percent over the same period last year, 377 tons from the Russian Federation, 51 tons from New Caledonia, down 4 percent from the previous month, and 27 percent from the same period last year. 39 tons from South Africa, an increase of 63 per cent over the same period last year.
