SMM4, March 8-Precious metal mining company Coeur Mining announced on Tuesday that it would suspend activities at the Palmarejo gold and silver mine in Mexico and withdraw its 2020 production guidelines.
At present, the company is gradually reducing its operation, and will still retain some staff in the mining area, maintain some important equipment, provide the necessary security support, and so on.
But, Coeur Mining's mines in the United States will continue to operate normally, and so far, no employees have been infected with the new crown virus.
The supply chain in the mining area that is still in operation has not been affected by the epidemic, nor has the company as a whole been significantly affected.
In 2019, the company produced a total of 359428 cups of gold and 11.7 million cups of silver. Among them, the Palmarejo mining area produces 111932 tons of gold and 6.8 million tons of silver.
