Thunder Mountain Gold announced the appointment of Dr. Steven Osterberg as Senior Vice President of Exploration, effective immediately. Ron Espell has stepped down as Chief Operating Officer. Osterberg will oversee target generation, technical evaluation, drilling and resource-growth programs, with a focus on the South Mountain project in Idaho. South Mountain is an exploration and development-stage silver-zinc-gold-copper-lead project covering approximately 13,061 acres. It contains more than 8,000 feet of historic underground workings and approximately 4,000 feet of rehabilitated, MSHA-compliant development.

Near the end of the session, the price center shifted upward, and it finally closed up at $4,021/mt, up $31.5/mt, or 0.79%. Trading volume increased to 14,081 lots, and open interest rose by 544 lots to 263,000 lots.

From mid-August, LME official zinc stocks (registered plus cancelled warrants) began to build from a low of 86,500 tonnes on 17 August, rising to 113,100 tonnes by 4 September — a cumulative increase of 26,600 tonnes. Yet over the same window the LME cash-to-three-month (0-3) backwardation did not ease; rather, it expanded from USD 82.88/t on 17 August to around USD 168.62/t on 4 September.
