SHANGHAI, Apr 7 (SMM) – Zinc inventories in China rose over the weekend that was extended by the Qingming Festival, as downstream consumers held back on procurement while arrivals remained normal.
SMM data showed that social inventories of refined zinc ingots across Shanghai, Tianjin, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and Hebei stood at 297,400 mt as of Tuesday April 7, up 4,800 mt from Friday April 3 but down 6,600 mt from Monday March 30.
Compared to last Friday, social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong increased 5,100 mt.
SMM learned that new orders for zinc alloy die-castings are poor while orders for galvanised plates and structural parts are better.
