Daily crude steel output at CISA key mills up 1.55% in mid-March

Daily crude steel output across China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) key mills averaged 1.84 million mt in March 11-20, up 1.55% from the first 10 days of the month, according to the latest data from CISA.

SHANGHAI, Mar 26 (SMM) – Daily crude steel output across China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) key mills averaged 1.84 million mt in March 11-20, up 1.55% from the first 10 days of the month, according to the latest data from CISA.


During the same period, average daily production of pig iron across those CISA key mills grew 0.74% to stand at 1.71 million mt. Daily output of steel products increased 4.88% to 1.76 million mt. 


As of March 20, inventories of steel products across those mills stood at 19.82 million mt, down 1.58 million mt or 7.4% from March 10, while up 10.29 million mt or 107.96% from the start of the year. 


Separately, average daily crude steel production at steelmakers across China is estimated at 2.49 million mt in March 11-20, up 1% from March 1-10.
