SMM3, March 18: South32 confirmed that a male employee at its silver mine in Cannington, Australia, had tested positive for the new crown virus, but it was rumored that the employee was infected near the coast on his way from work. A company spokesman said the employee had not been in the workplace since he developed symptoms of the outbreak and was being quarantined at home.
South32 said it would continue to closely monitor the latest progress of the epidemic and take measures to minimize the impact of the epidemic.
As of last Sunday, the Queensland Health Bureau said 15 new crowns had been confirmed in Queensland, with a total of 61 confirmed in Queensland.
