About 99.52% of power engineering projects with a total number of 6,664 under state-owned company China Southern Power Grid have resumed operations, the company said on March 4

SHANGHAI, Mar 4 (SMM) – About 99.52% of power engineering projects with a total number of 6,664 under state-owned company China Southern Power Grid have resumed operations, the company said on March 4. The projects spread across five provinces in south China such as Sichuan, Yunnan and Guangdong, and prompted the resumption of work across the industry chain.

The recovered projects include 665 main grid projects of 35kV and above, 5,856 distribution network projects, 3 power projects and 140 small-scale infrastructure projects.

Among over 1,000 vendors from which China Southern Power Grid Company has contacted for materials procurement, about 70% have restarted production so far.

“Those vendors come from all over the country. For instance, suppliers of transformers and reactors are mostly from Henan and Liaoning, while providers of communication fibre are usually from Jiangsu,” said Wu Haiquan, manager of the supply chain management department of China Southern Power Grid.

The recovery across the power industry chain is expected to stay on course during the coming months.
