SHANGHAI, Mar 3 (SMM) – China Southern Rare Earth Group, one of the six, state-owned rare earth mining groups in China, on Monday raised the weekly listed prices of several medium and heavy rare earth oxides including dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide, while left prices of some other products unchanged.

Prices of terbium oxide and dysprosium oxide rose 200,000 yuan/mt and 30,000 yuan/mt on the week, respectively, to stand at 4.2 million yuan/mt and 1.88 million yuan/mt. The adjustment lifted quotes of holmic oxide to 355,000 yuan/mt, up 5,000 yuan/mt from a week earlier

Listed prices for other medium and heavy rare earth oxides, such as samarium oxide and gadolinium oxide, which were priced at 12,000 yuan/mt and 170,000 yuan/mt respectively, were flat on the week.

Spot prices of medium-to-heavy rare earth products also climbed on the back of bullish prospects amid tight supplies, showed SMM assessments.

Prices of terbium oxide stood at 4.25-4.3 million yuan/mt as of March 3, up 50,000 yuan/mt from March 2 and up 350,000 yuan/mt from a week earlier. Prices of dysprosium oxide were assessed at 1.84-1.87 million yuan/mt as of March 3, 10,000 yuan/mt higher on the day and 40,000 yuan/mt higher on the week.

Meanwhile, light rare earth prices continued to weaken due to growing bearishness about prices after China raised its mining quotas for such materials for the first half of this year

As of March 3, prices of praseodymium-neodymium oxide stood at 275,000-279,000 yuan/mt, down 2,000 yuan/mt from March 2 and down 5,500 yuan/mt from a week ago.
