China excavator sales fell 15.4% YoY in January

SHANGHAI, Feb 19 (SMM) – The top 25 Chinese excavator makers sold 9,942 excavators last month, down 15.4% from a year earlier, according to data from China Construction Machinery Association.

In January, domestic excavator sales accounted for 7,758 units, down 23.5% year on year, while exports expanded 35.3% during the same period to 2,184 units.

Data from 21 Chinese loader manufacturers showed that sales of loaders in January dropped 23.8% year on year to 5,519 units, with domestic sales down 28.1% to 4,022 units. Loader exports declined 9% from a year ago to 1,497 units.
