SHANGHAI, Feb 14 (SMM) – Leading lead-acid battery producers in China resumed production this week, but their recovery was subdued at 20-30% as transportation and travel restrictions and quarantines lingered.
An SMM survey showed that the average operating rate across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces averaged 10.33% in the week ended February 14, recovering from zero last week.
SMM added more companies to its survey, bringing the ratio of surveyed capacity to the total across the five regions to 66.5%.
The average operating rate is set to increase further next week, as smaller battery producers will gradually resume production.
