SHANGHAI, Feb 14 (SMM) – Inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port recovered 3,000 mt from a week earlier to 66,000 mt as of February 14, showed SMM data.
Arrivals from two major producers in Xinjiang that shipped cargoes after the Chinese New Year holiday by railroad significantly lifted stocks at Tianjin port, while smaller arrivals than deliveries kept inventories at Huangpu port and in Kunming lower this week.
The volume of silicon deliveries from warehouses at ports rebounded this week as export trades picked up. But the limited capacity of motor transport still left some cargoes backlogged at silicon mills. Silicon inventories in some areas are expected to rise further with the recovery of logistics.
