BMZ Group plans to purchase about 6.1 billion yuan Lithium Battery from Samsung SDI

SMM2, 14 Jun: BMZ Group (BMZ Group), Europe's largest maker of lithium-ion battery systems, plans to purchase 1 trillion won (6.1 billion yuan) worth of lithium-ion batteries from Samsung SDI over the next five years.

It is reported that BMZ Group CEO and founder Sven Bauer and Samsung SDI Senior Vice President Michael Son as early December 2018 in South Korea has begun relevant negotiations.

BMZ Group is a global provider of lithium-ion battery solutions headquartered in Germany, with production facilities in China, Poland and the United States, as well as offices in Japan and France.

BMZ Group plans to double the production of electric vehicle battery systems to major European carmakers next year. To further meet market demand, the company has acquired German battery maker TerraE, and plans to invest 300m euros in the construction of 8GWh battery production line, the first phase of production capacity is planned for 4GWhH, which is expected to go into production in 2020.
