SHANGHAI, Feb 5 (SMM) – Xiamen Xiangyu Group’s new stainless steel project in Indonesia commenced trial production on February 3, sources told SMM.
The trial involved 600,000 mt/year of production capacity for #304 steel billet, and the project is designed with a total capacity of 2.5 million mt/year of stainless steel.
According to a SMM survey, the latest coronavirus outbreak has caused a limited impact on the production of Chinese companies in Indonesia, while Indonesia has strengthened the restrictions on personnel travelling from China.
It’s understood that the new project is located in the Virtue Dragon Industrial Park in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. The project integrates stainless steel smelting plants with a capacity of 2.5 million mt/year, 1,440 MW thermal power plants, and a multi-functional port with an annual throughput of 40 million mt.
