Primary aluminium inventories jumped 60,000 mt on week

Stocks increased 60,000 mt in the week ended January 23 to 690,000 mt

SHANGHAI, Jan 23 (SMM) – Aluminium inventories in China jumped in the last week ahead of the Chinese New Year holiday, lifted by greater arrivals and muted consumption.

SMM data showed that social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, increased 60,000 mt in the week ended January 23 to 690,000 mt, triple the 20,000 mt increase seen last week.

 

Details:

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 236,000 mt

Shanghai – 103,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 152,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 49,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 75,000 mt

Tianjin – 58,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 6,000 mt

Chongqing –11,000 mt
