BHP copper production rose 9 per cent in the fourth quarter from a year earlier to 455000 tonnes

SMM1, March 21: BHP Billiton's copper production rose 6% month-on-month in the fourth quarter, up 9% from a year earlier to 455000 tons, mainly from the Escondida mining area and the Olympic Dam (Olympic Dam in Australia).

Of this total, Escondida copper production increased by 9 per cent in the fourth quarter from a year earlier and 5 per cent from a month earlier to 309000 tons.

BHP Billiton expects production guidelines for fiscal year 2020 to remain unchanged, with copper production remaining between 1.705 million tons and 1.82 million tons.
