Primary aluminium inventories rose 21,000 mt over weekend

SHANGHAI, Jan 20 (SMM) – Aluminium inventories in China grew faster over the weekend, bolstered by concentrated arrivals in some regions and weakening consumption as the whole country gears up for the Lunar New Year holidays.

 

SMM data showed that social inventories of primary aluminium across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, increased 21,000 mt from last Thursday January 16 to 651,000 mt as of Monday January 20. In the whole week ended January 16, the stocks increased 20,000 mt.

 

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 213,000 mt

Shanghai – 102,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 139,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 50,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 72,000 mt

Tianjin – 58,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 6,000 mt

Chongqing –11,000 mt
