SMM: according to (ICSG), an international copper research organization, Iran's copper production will be 315000 tons in 2019, accounting for about 1.5 percent of the total global supply.
Preliminary data from ICSG show that Iran will produce about 260000 tons of refined copper in 2019.
The chief executive of Iran's state copper company told domestic media on December 30th that the total investment in large copper projects to be put into production in the coming months had exceeded 310 million euros ($345 million). It is also one of the top executives under sanctions.
In the year to March 2019, Iran exported a total of $917.53 million in the copper industry chain and downstream products. The country's copper reserves are about 2.6 billion tons. The large copper mining area Sarcheshmeh is located in (Kerman), Kerman Province, southeastern China.
Earlier, Mohammed, general manager of Iran's State Copper Company, said that in the first half of 2019 (March 21 to September 22), a total of 132400 tons of copper were produced, of which 56000 tons were exported. In the last fiscal year (March 2018 to March 2019), copper exports for the full year were only 47000 tons. Iran's copper production is expected to reach 260000 tons this fiscal year and more than 300000 tons in the next fiscal year (March 2020 to March 2021), the tacit said. At the same time, Iran's copper smelting capacity will reach 400000 tons by the end of the fiscal year (March 2020).
