A major Chinese stainless steel plant cut production on environmental issues

Some 20,000 mt of #200 stainless steel output is expected to be impacted

SHANGHAI, Jan 2 (SMM) – Some 20,000 mt of #200 stainless steel output is expected to be impacted as a major stainless steel producer in Central China shut two blast furnaces on December 30, in response to the national emissions reduction policies, according to sources. 

The stainless steel producer has an annualised capacity of 1 million mt.
