Tangshan lifted level II anti-smog measures

Separately, Linfen deescalated red alert for heavy air pollution to the orange level on December 26

SHANGHAI, Dec 26 (SMM) – Tangshan, China’s top steelmaking hub, lifted level II smog control measures at 12:00 CST on December 26 as diffusion conditions improve amid a round of cold wave. 

The level II orange alert for pollution was activated in Tangshan at noon on December 23.

Separately, Linfen, the coal hub in central China’s Shanxi province, deescalated red alert for heavy air pollution to the orange level from 0:00 CST on December 26.

The red alert for smog in Linfen, which is the highest level in China’s four-tier pollution warning system, was in place for four days starting from December 22.
