China's bauxite imports rebounded 11% in November

China imported 7.21 million mt of bauxite last month, up 11.38% from a month ago but down 10.9% from a year ago

SHANGHAI, Dec 26 (SMM) – China’s imports of bauxite rose in November, after declining for three consecutive months, showed data from China customs.

China imported 7.21 million mt of bauxite (under HS code 26060000) last month, up 11.38% from a month ago but down 10.9% from a year ago.

In November, Australia, the Republic of Guinea and Indonesia remained the top three bauxite exporters to China, with their combined volume accounting for 92.03% of the total.

Australian cargoes took up 3.28 million mt, while 1.86 million mt originated from Guinea and 1.5 million mt came from Indonesia.

For the same month, China imported 295,200 mt of bauxite from Brazil, 124,500 mt from Turkey, 86,800 mt from the Republic of Montenegro, 55,400 mt from Solomon Islands, and 13,100 mt from Jamaica.

[SMM Aluminum Flash] On September 11, petroleum coke prices continued to rise. The latest SMM data showed that the spot price index for No.1 petroleum coke in north-east China was recorded at 4,635.46 yuan/mt, flat WoW; the spot price index for No.2 petroleum coke in Shandong was recorded at 4,354.42 yuan/mt, up 1.16% WoW; the spot price index for No.3 petroleum coke in Shandong was recorded at 3,890.35 yuan/mt, up 1.88% WoW; the spot price index for No.4 petroleum coke in Shandong was recorded at 2,319.16 yuan/mt, up 0.66% WoW; and the spot price index for No.3 petroleum coke in the northwest was recorded at 4,202.47 yuan/mt, flat WoW.

[SMM Flash] SHFE data shows that on September 11, the total registered warrant volume for cast aluminum alloy was 23,104 mt, an increase of 1 mt from the previous trading day. Specifically, the total registered volume in Shanghai was 1,625 mt, an increase of 0 mt from the previous trading day; in Guangdong, it was 1,462 mt, a decrease of 29 mt; in Jiangsu, it was 7,206 mt, an increase of 60 mt; in Zhejiang, it was 10,374 mt, an increase of 149 mt; in Chongqing, it was 2,165 mt, an increase of 0 mt; and in Sichuan, it was 269 mt, a decrease of 90 mt.
