SHANGHAI, Dec 25 (SMM) – Taishan Iron & Steel, a large state-owned enterprise group in east China’s Shandong province, plans to put 800,000 mt/year of cold-rolled stainless steel coil capacity into operation by end-June 2020, reported by Stainless Steel Council of China Special Steel Enterprises Association.
This will be the first high-end stainless cold rolling project in Shandong.
The company became China’s largest independent stainless steel mill for 400 series stainless steel in 2017, SMM learned. Its #400 stainless steel products have accounted for nearly 30% of the market share in China and more than 60% of the share in Guangdong market.
Taishan Iron & Steel currently has an annual production capacity of 3 million mt of fine steel plate and strip, 600,000 mt of stainless steel.
