On September 26, the Ningde Times issued a notice saying that at the eighth meeting of the second session of the Board of Directors held on September 25, 2019, the "motion on investing in the construction of a power battery Yibin manufacturing base project" was examined and passed. According to the company's strategic development plan, in order to further promote the layout of the company's battery production capacity, the company plans to invest in the construction of a power battery manufacturing base in Yibin City, Sichuan Province, with a total investment of no more than 10 billion yuan.

Ningde Times said that the first phase of construction from the start of no more than 26 months, the second phase of the plan to start within two years after the first phase of production, ultimately subject to the actual construction situation. The total area of the project is about 1000 mu, of which the first phase covers an area of about 400 mu and the second phase covers an area of about 600 mu. Power battery production layout in Sichuan, estimated to increase production capacity about 30GWh.

Since September this year, the Ningde era has continued to maintain a good momentum of development, and continuous cooperation projects with various enterprises have been reached.

On September 5, Ningde Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Ningde Times") announced that it will formally establish a long-term strategic partnership with Bosch Group (hereinafter referred to as "Bosch"). Thereafter, the Ningde era will provide a reliable power core for the Bosch 48V power battery system on a global scale.

On September 18, Ningde Times signed a global power battery procurement agreement with Daimlerka bus Company. Ningde Times will provide power batteries for several truck series launched by Daimlerka bus Company since 2021, including Mercedes-Benz eActros,Freightliner eCascadia and Freightliner eM2.

On September 25, Ningde Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Ningde Times") and Yibin Municipal Government signed a project investment agreement, the two sides will establish a comprehensive strategic partnership to build a new energy industry base in the west. According to the framework of the agreement, Ningde era plans to invest in the construction of power battery projects in Yibin, and gradually promote the construction of a complete new energy battery and upstream and downstream core industrial chain system, jointly build a new energy industry base in western China based in Sichuan, facing the southwest, radiating the whole country, and moving towards the "Belt and Road".

On September 26, BAIC New Energy and Ningde era jointly created the CTP battery pack (Cell to Pack, module-free power battery bag) in BAIC New Energy headquarters-China Blue Valley officially released. According to officials, the battery package has an energy density of more than 200Wh/kg.

On October 14, Ningde Times New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. ("Ningde Times") signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with (Volkswagen Caminh (Latin America) Card bus Company, one of the three major commercial vehicle companies in Latin America ("VWCO" for short). The Ningde era will provide VWCO with full life cycle battery solutions, including battery development, manufacturing, recycling and cascade utilization.

On October 18, Ningde Times officially broke ground at its first overseas factory in Thuringia, Germany. According to the plan, the Ningde Times European plant covers an area of 23 hectares. The production line includes cell and module products, and 14GWh battery capacity is expected to be achieved in 2022.

On Thursday, BMW Group said in a statement that it had ordered more than 10 billion euros worth of battery packs from Ningde Times in China and Samsung SDI in South Korea. According to the statement, BMW purchased 7.3 billion euros worth of battery packs from the Ningde era as part of a contract signed between the two sides in the middle of last year. However, the total order price at that time was 4 billion euros. The supply contract will be extended from 2020 to 2031.

On November 27, it is understood that Valmet Automotive has selected CATL as its lithium-ion battery partner and has begun mass production of automotive lithium-ion battery packs at the Nokia plant in Finland.

ABS and Chinese battery company Ningde Times will work together to study the propulsion technology of the next generation of lithium batteries for ships, according to the latest news from (ABS), the American classification society. According to the framework cooperation agreement signed between the two sides, ABS and CATL will jointly study the technical standards of battery-powered ships, including key safety technologies such as propulsion systems, charging systems, power battery compartment layout and fire control.

Earlier, according to some media reports, Tesla and local battery company Ningde Times reached a preliminary agreement on battery supply to the Shanghai plant and will discuss a potential global battery supply agreement, which means that if the news is true, the Tesla battery supply chain, which has long been controlled by Panasonic, will face major changes.
