Chongqing Energy Banner Aluminium shifts to ingot production

SHANGHAI, Dec 17 (SMM) – Chongqing Energy Banner Aluminium, a unit of Chongqing Energy Investment Group, plans to produce 15,000 mt of aluminium ingot in two months as expected downstream production cut or suspension during the Chinese New Year holiday will depress demand for molten aluminium.

The company commenced operation of its ingot casting lines on December 10, with production scheduled to last 60 days, sources told SMM.

Its capacity currently in operation stands at 330,000 mt/year.
