China Oct manganese ore imports rose to second-highest since 2004

October’s imports were up 17.09% from a month ago and 18.38% from a year ago

SHANGHAI, Nov 27 (SMM) – China imported 3.22 million mt of manganese ore in October, the second-highest since 2004, according to data from China customs.

The highest was 3.36 million mt, registered in May 2019.

October’s imports were up 17.09% from a month ago and 18.38% from a year ago.

For the first 10 months of 2019, China’s imports of manganese ore amounted to 27.63 million mt.

SMM data showed that stocks of seaborne manganese ore across Chinese ports rose to an all-time high of 4.5 million mt at the start of November.
