SHANGHAI, Nov 19 (SMM) – Tangshan, China's top steelmaking hub in Hebei province, will activate an orange alert, or second-highest warning in China's four-tier system on 20:00 CST November 19, to combat heavy smog expected from November 20.
This comes after the city lifted its previous round of level II anti-smog measures on November 7.
Production at local steelmakers will be restricted following the start of the anti-smog response. It remains unclear when the alert will be lifted.
