NBS: China crude steel production rose 7.4% YoY in Jan-Oct

China’s production of crude steel dipped 0.6% from a year ago and 1.5% from a month ago to 81.52 million mt in Oct

SHANGHAI, Nov 14 (SMM) – China’s production of crude steel dipped 0.6% from a year ago and 1.5% from a month ago to 81.52 million mt in October, with a daily average of 2.63 million mt, showed data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

This brought production in January-October to 829.22 million mt, up 7.4% from the same period a year earlier.

For the first 10 months of 2019, China’s production of pig iron rose 5.4% year on year to 675.18 million mt, and that of steel products expanded 9.8% to 1.01 billion mt.
