Construction of 50,000 mt NCA cathode material project began in Qinghai

The project aimed at providing raw materials for lithium-ion power batteries

SHANGHAI, Nov 13 (SMM) – A lithium nickel cobalt aluminium oxide (NCA) cathode material project, with an annualised capacity of 50,000 mt, commenced construction in Tongren County of Qinghai province on October 29, according to a news release on the local government website.

The project aimed at providing raw materials for lithium-ion power batteries. With a total investment of 3 billion yuan, it is expected to generate an annual output value of 10 billion yuan upon full commissioning.

Phase-one project features 15 production lines, with a combined capacity of 18,000 mt/year.
