SHANGHAI, Nov 6 (SMM) – A new lead-zinc deposit was discovered in Hezhang county of Guizhou province, and this is likely to increase reserves of the local mining area to above 3.3 million mt, according to Chinese media reports.
Lead-zinc reserves in the Zhugongtang mining area was initially discovered in October 2018, marking the first super-large lead-zinc mine identified in Guizhou, according to reports on Hezhang government website .
The mine boasts an average grade of 11%, 10-25 times of the industrial grade. It is equivalent of five so-called “large” lead-zinc deposits.
Geologists estimated that overall reserves in the mining area are worth 70 billion yuan.
