Chalieco-led consortium won 5.3 billion yuan bid to build alumina refinery in Indonesia

SHANGHAI, Nov 4 (SMM) – A consortium of China Aluminum International Engineering and PT.PP. (Persero) Tbk has won a 5.3 billion yuan contract to construct an alumina refinery in Indonesia, the Chinese engineering firm said on October 23.

The project will have an annual output of 1 million mt of metallurgical-grade alumina and is expected to come online in 2022.

Chalieco will be in charge of the design of the project, procurement of major equipment, debugging, and ensuring the expected output. The Indonesia property firm will install the equipment and do some of the construction work.
