SHANGHAI, Nov 1 (SMM) – China imported 147,800 mt of alumina in September, increasing sharply by 331.9% year on year, according to the latest data from China Customs.
This brought alumina imports in the first nine months of the year to around 790,000 mt, up 93.3% from the same period a year earlier.
Customs data also showed that China’s exports of alumina stood at 34,345 mt last month, down 79.3% from a year ago.
Alumina exports amounted to 223,134 mt in January-September, down 58.6% year on year.
