DCE aims to launch iron ore options this year

SHANGHAI, Oct 31 (SMM) – The Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) aims to launch iron ore options trading this year, said a principal from the exchange on Thursday.

The DCE is also working to speed up the listing of steel scrap, gas coal futures and coking coal and coke options, the principal told delegates at the 2019 Ferrous Derivatives Summit in Xiamen.

A total of 81 vessels carrying 12.63 million mt of iron ore arrived at major Chinese ports during July 11-17, SMM estimates. This was down 550,000 mt from the previous week, and down 2.59 million mt from the same period last year.
