Zinc social inventories rose 2,000 mt on week

Greater arrivals from domestic smelters grew inventories in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, Oct 25 (SMM) – Social inventories of refined zinc in Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong were 2,000 mt higher than that on October 18, standing at 138,400 mt as of Friday October 25, according to SMM data.

Greater arrivals from domestic smelters grew inventories in Shanghai. This offset declines in Guangdong, which was caused by improved local consumption and smaller arrivals.

As of October 25, zinc stocks in Tianjin were little changed from a week earlier.

Social inventories of lead ingots across Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Tianjin expanded 13,600 mt from last Friday July 23 to 172,600 mt as of July 30. This was up 6,500 mt from Monday July 26 and registered a new high since October 2014.
