Codelco Copper says production will be maintained during the general strike

Codelco, the Chilean state-owned copper company, the world's largest copper producer, said on Wednesday that it had maintained production despite a general strike that had led to the closure of its Andina copper mine, and protests in recent days had rocked the South American country.

Codelco said six of its eight branches were performing "most of the business".
