China primary aluminium output dips 1.6% YoY in Sep: NBS

Production dipped 1.6% from a year ago to 2.9 million mt in Sep

SHANGHAI, Oct 18 (SMM) – China’s production of primary aluminium dipped 1.6% from a year ago to 2.9 million mt in September, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said Friday October 18.

This brought output in the first nine months of 2019 to 26.37 million mt, up 1.1% from the same period a year earlier, slower than a 1.4% increase in January-August.

NBS data also showed that China's production of 10 nonferrous metals, including copper, aluminium, lead, zinc and nickel, totaled 4.97 million mt last month, up 5.1% year on year.

In January-September, output of the 10 nonferrous metals amounted to 43.47 million mt, with a year-over-year increase of 4.5%.
