This is up some $11/mt from the previous quarter

SHANGHAI, Oct 17 (SMM) – China’s top copper smelters set their floor treatment charge (TC) for the fourth quarter of 2019 at $66/mt, up some $11/mt from the previous quarter.

The floor charges, the minimum that miners pay smelters to process their copper concentrate into refined metal, were finalised at a quarterly meeting of the China Smelters Purchase Team (CSPT) in Shanghai on Thursday October 17. China is the world’s top copper consumer.

SMM assessed TCs for spot clean copper concentrate at $54-60/mt as of October 11.

【Flash | Peru’s Molybdenum Export Volumes Jump 75.3% YoY in July】
Peru’s Central Reserve Bank reported that the country’s molybdenum export volume rose 75.3% year on year in July 2026, in line with higher production. The increase points to stronger outbound shipments that month. Export volume and mine production are different measures, however, and one month’s shipments do not establish the outlook for future output or global supply.
