Primary aluminium inventories drop 61,000 mt on fewer arrivals

Stocks decreased by 61,000 mt from a week ago to 916,000 mt as of Oct 17

SHANGHAI, Oct 17 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium in China declined significantly this week, after an increase in the first week after the National Day holiday, as arrivals shrank sharply while outflows held stable.

SMM data showed that stocks across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, decreased by 61,000 mt from a week ago to 916,000 mt as of Thursday October 17.

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 249,000 mt

Shanghai – 164,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 303,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 71,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 49,000 mt

Tianjin – 52,000 mt             

Linyi, Shandong – 7,000 mt

Chongqing –21,000 mt
