Nyrstar announced on Monday that its Langlois zinc mine would stop production in December, mainly because local rock conditions had deteriorated and were no longer suitable for mining operations. In 2018, the zinc concentrate output of the Langlois project reached 24000 tons.

SMM10, March 15: Nyrstar announced Monday that its Langlois zinc mine will stop production in December, mainly because local rock conditions have deteriorated and are no longer suitable for mining operations.

In 2018, the zinc concentrate output of the Langlois project reached 24000 tons.

The Langlois zinc mine began production in July 2007, but maintenance began the following year.

Nyrstar acquired the project in 2011 and brought the mine back to operation through the renovation of underground mines and surface infrastructure.
